Girls Day – Keyweb AG from Erfurt invites!

To support female student to the professional orientation, the hosting provider Keyweb takes part in Girls'Day on March 26th, 2020. The main purpose of this day is to counter current role thinking and to convince the young girls that IT professions can be interesting especially in times of digitalization and offer a lot of potential for the future.

It is common for girls to predominantly decide upon the "typically female" professions and thus don‘t exhaust their professional opportunities. For a career choice without cliches has been founded the career orientation project "Girls'Day" also called "Mädchen-Zukunftstag" (girls future day). Hereby female students should get insights in technical, craft and natural science jobs. Across Germany, companies from a wide range of sectors register for the Girls'Day and organize an introductory programme for the girls.

This year, Girls Day will take place on 26 March 2020. On this day, we invite eight girls from the 7th grade to join us. With an interesting and varied programme, we will introduce the girls to the apprenticeship professions of PHP programmer, IT system administrator and IT system clerk. In this context, a tour of our premises and our data centre as well as agile workshops will give the girls the opportunity to understand technology in a light way and to try it out in practice. Above all, the girls will be shown how important data security is in times of digitalisation. Finally, a small surprise awaits the participants at the end of the day.

Our offer "Shape the digital future with Keyweb" is listed in the Girls'Day radar on the Girls'Day website, so girls can register online for this offer if they are interested. More information about registration and the exact procedure can be found at the following link: keyweb.de/en/keyweb/girlsday

The Girls' Future Day is considered a valuable career orientation programme for female pupils. That is why the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs recommends that all schools hold Girls Day as a school event.

If a school does not participate, the girls have the possibility to apply for exemption from lessons. This should be submitted to the school by the girl's legal guardian.
