KeyHelp® 25.2 – Now with Debian 13 support and more improvements

by Alexander Mahr

In the coming days, the new KeyHelp version 25.2 will be released. With this update, KeyHelp adds support for the recently released Debian 13 (codename “Trixie”).

Debian 13 comes with updated system libraries, newer software versions, and long-term security updates. This provides a modern and future-proof foundation for new server installations going forward. You can find more details about what’s new in Debian 13 on the official website: https://www.debian.org/News/2025/20250809

Existing installations can be upgraded from Debian 12 to Debian 13 at a later time. As usual, an upgrade script and a step-by-step guide will be provided to ensure the transition can be carried out as smoothly and safely as possible. This script will be released in the coming weeks and will also be announced here.
Please never perform a distribution upgrade manually - always use the scripts provided at https://www.keyhelp.de/help.

Even though Debian 13 support has been extensively tested, unexpected issues may still occur in this first release. Administrators should take this into account when planning for production environments.

The latest KeyHelp update also includes numerous smaller improvements to user experience, performance optimizations, and bug fixes. A complete list of all changes can be found in the changelog at https://changelog.keyhelp.de.
