The hosting and IT infrastructure provider Keyweb AG is expanding its backup portfolio with two new solutions for virtualized IT environments. In addition to the existing KeyDisc Pro backup storage, customers now also have the option of PBS Storage and a dedicated Proxmox backup server. This allows Keyweb to cover a wide range of requirements, from traditional data backup to an independent backup infrastructure for Proxmox VE.
With the growing adoption of virtualized server environments, the demand for powerful and reliable backup solutions is also increasing. Particularly in production environments with multiple virtual machines and containers, the fast restore of entire systems plays a crucial role.
“Today, virtualized infrastructures consolidate many business-critical applications on only a few hosts. A structured backup strategy therefore becomes a central component of the IT architecture,” explains Frank Nowag, CEO of Keyweb AG. “With our new Proxmox-based backup solutions, companies can efficiently secure their systems and restore them quickly in case of an emergency.”
With PBS Storage, Keyweb offers a shared backup infrastructure based on the Proxmox Backup Server. The solution is particularly suitable for small to medium-sized Proxmox environments and enables incremental backups with block-level deduplication. The backups are stored externally in German data centers and can be used, for example, as an offsite backup as part of a 3-2-1 backup strategy.
For larger virtualization environments or higher requirements in terms of performance and isolation, Keyweb also provides a dedicated Proxmox Backup Server. Customers receive an independent backup infrastructure on exclusive hardware with a storage capacity of up to 30 TB. By separating production and backup systems, recovery processes can be planned and implemented in a structured manner.
The existing KeyDisc Pro offering will remain available as a flexible backup storage solution for traditional file backups and offsite backups.
All backup solutions are operated in data centers in Germany and support companies in securing their data in compliance with the GDPR.
